Is your Bathroom just too small? Do you dread getting ready for work or bed because your space is just no working for you? Well we have lots of ideas and solutions that can make your bath area a place to desire to be and even to pamper yourself daily in unique luxury. The Master Bath is one area of the house that you can’t go wrong by spending some money to make it a pleasure to spend time in. The bathroom can be your only escape from the stresses of life – you don’t want it to be the source of additional fits of rage!
The problem with most bathrooms is that they are plainly, just too small. Additionally, it is not often that they can be easily remedied by just making it bigger. You can however rearrange it, or even eliminate a feature or two you don’t use, to create the space for the feature you really need. Many times this feature is the shower! A 3’x3′ (or smaller) is just not a comfortable size, even though it may technically be adequate. Many times the bathtub is located adjacent to the shower and since most of us do not use the tub, that is a feature many people are electing to forego in order to create a shower space that feels absolutely divine. Since most homes still have a useable tub/shower in another bathroom, this is not typically a problem area for resale, but by making the bath more user friendly it makes it MORE appealing. By creating a large shower, you now have space for a shower seat, body sprays, hand held shower heads, rain heads, steam baths, or other spa-like features. You can really transform the feeling of taking a shower from just getting clean to treating yourself to a daily gift of relaxation.
By opening up the space of the shower, you then allow your self to add the openness of a glass enclosure that will show off your new space and possible designs that you can add to the tile walls of the shower. You can continue the theme throughout the bathroom and by changing the hardware, faucets, floors, and countertops the entire room becomes a sanctuary that you can be proud to be in and even to show off. The process only takes a couple of weeks and the result will really increase the value of your home.
By updating your fixtures and countertops you will also make your bathroom more efficient, earth friendly, and easier to clean. New plumbing and lighting fixtures require significantly less energy and water to use, thus saving on utilities. By installing natural stone and sealing it, you give yourself the ability to save money on costly cleaners and the time and exposure to the chemicals, because sealed stone is best cleaned with just water. This all results in being more earth friendly; and every thing we can do to reduce wasted energy and exposure to chemicals helps everyone.
